AL CUBO
(NICOLETTA BATTAGLIA Y JADE MORIN)
Al Cubo is a contemporary object theatre and circus performance — visual and geometric in style — created for audiences of all ages from three years old and up.
Everything begins in a rigid landscape, built from cubes and right angles. It is an ordered, motionless space, like a still life painting.
Toc. Shhh.
Something moves. Something falls.
From that moment on, everything changes.
And it comes alive.
Two robotic figures appear.
They dismantle, arrange, and rebuild.
They change, and they transform their surroundings, which become increasingly crooked, unstable, precarious — fragile.
The angles shift and evolve.
Little by little, signs of humanity begin to emerge, both within and around them: faces, hair, breaths.
Colors. A flower. An animal.
The landscape mutates and redraws itself.
They mutate and begin to breathe —
opening a door to novelty, surprise, and difference.
